I spent the better part of my day yesterday researching something I had largely ignored.
What I found out blew my mind.
For Kshs 1,000 a month you can buy a severe illness insurance cover. Just for ‘big’ illnesses like cancer, heart and kidney failure, organ transplants – the lot.
And this doesn’t just pay hospital bills like the normal medical insurance, even that flight to India, and the hotel room will be in the mix.
Here’s the clincher – they give you the cash, and you spend it as you require. This is different from other plans that will constantly look over your shoulder, asking funny questions like “how much was the doctors’ bill?” and other jokes.
Many people don’t buy medical insurance, because they might not get sick, and then the insurance company will just ‘eat’ their money. Others are suspicious that the cover may not come through for them when the ‘big’ illness comes knocking.
If you’re this kind of person, you’re better off just getting the severe illness cover. Thank me later.
The recent stories in the media about cancer related deaths haven’t helped one bit. So I’ll get one for myself. While I still can. And if you want to know how you can do that for self and loved one, shoot us an email.
